Why does there need to be a point to say “I support gay rights.. but I’m not gay”? Why wouldn’t you just say “I support gay rights” if the thought of homosexuality doesn’t bother you?

I’ve been trying to make it a point not to do this. You’re right it shouldn’t matter if you’re gay or not. You don’t have to be part of a group in order to support their equal treatment.
